The General manager is responsible for all company operations. The main focus will be on the toy division with additional oversight of the apparel division.

Candidate must have strong hands-on experience with import/export operation in order to coach and supervise the company operations. The General Manager will report to the owner.

Primary Purpose and Scope:

In our group of companies, you will coordinate the operations of our offices in United States, China, Thailand, Netherlands, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. You will work with a great design team based in Montréal, sales teams throughout the world, and a sourcing and production team in China and Thailand as well as a controller and database analyst in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the various offices to ensure clear communications between departments
  • Train and coach various departments
  • Maintain relationship with suppliers in Asia and customers and sales teams throughout the world
  • Ensure that China office meets deliverables
  • Solve problems escalated to your desk
  • Develop and implement policies, KPI and SOP for all functions
  • Meet sales and cost targets

Job Requirements:

  • 10 years experience in operation or general manager for import or foreign company
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP
  • Excellent English language skills, French, Thai and 普通话an asset

Essential Tasks:

  • Daily and weekly meetings with development, sales, production departments
  • Resolve problems that staff cannot fix by themselves
  • Report progress to owner
  • Audit internal processes and SOP
  • Travel to trade shows, sourcing shows and visit customers and suppliers.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Detailed orientated and able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to lead through clear and consistent actions
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Accountable to follow through on a task from beginning to end
  • Coaching and mentoring skills

Work Experience and Education:

  • 10 years operation and managing experience
  • University degree

Special Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent Domestic and International travel

  • Reports to owner
  • Cross functional interaction with various company departments
