Fantastic opportunity for the right candidate!!! Our client is looking for a Designer / Merchandiser for their line of fantastic pet clothing and accessories. You don’t need to have experience designing this product range, but you should be a pet lover with a desire to create and build a line of branded products for this rapidly growing industry (thanks, Covid!)
Responsibilities:
Research and development for the new collection of pet clothing and accessories
Manage the branding aspects such as social media, web, videos etc.
Sketch and create teck packs to be sent overseas for product development
Participate in fit sessions and communicate with makers in China to follow up on sample development
Photograph all items and help put together salesmen catalogs
Create a style-master catalogs of all original samples for the design department, special customer line sheets (or presentations), create all color cards for design and sales teams every season
Update time-line sample planner with FOB’s and revised photos until end of development process
Collect proto sample price approvals from makers and production manager
Approval of all fabric quality, trims, lab dips, strike offs and labels for production with design/production team
Work with team to ensure consistency of fit and sample accuracy through various sample stages

Requirements:
College degree in Design
3-5 years of experience as a fashion designer, bonus points if you’ve designed pet clothing or accessories
Proficient skills in Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload according to deadline.
Be aware of the fashion trends / market.
A team player.
Bilingual (English and French) is a strong asset.
