Newly created position in Design & Product Development for a growing Montreal based sock & hosiery manufacturer.

This company is presently selling to Majors across North America and have the need for a new Designer.

Your role will consist of developing private label programs with Majors and ensuring deadlines are respected.

 

Participating in the creative process you role will consist of developing line plans with product assortment to present to customers. You will will research trends, colors, yarn and select fabrics for the upcoming programs assigned to you. You will ensure that technical files and artwork are ready for sendoff.  You will participate in all communications with vendors including price negotiations, production lead times and troubleshooting making sure deadlines are respected.  You will also participate in the production cycle and approve lab dips, strike offs and samples and communicate with customers to ensure compliance.  Your role will also include communication with the sales team and the customers.  You will attend trade shows, industry events and customer presentations.

 

In order to be considered you will need 3+ years of experience in design & development.  Prior experience in socks and hosiery would be considered an asset.  A strong understanding of Majors in Canada and the US would also be considered an asset.  Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a must.  Excellent communication in English as well as a good understanding of fabric, yarns and production is necessary.
