A major distributor of home textile, housewares and ecommerce activities is currently looking to add an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join its group (as a maternity leave placement for 1 year with the opportunity to stay on in another role).
Responsibilities:
- Work with our freight forwarders to approve and manage bookings
- Coordinate incoming shipments and reconcile commercial documents
- Work with our carriers to receive the best rates possible (ocean & land)
- Prepare documentation for outbound shipments as per customer requirements
- Maintain internal reports used to facilitate the Traffic department
- Update all Vendor Manual folders
- Oversee item and PO creation
- Keep up to date with latest logistic news
- Work with our brokers to ensure that goods are rated properly
- Create loading diagrams
- Land shipments in our system
Requirements:
- At least 2 years working in a traffic/logistics group
- Strong organization skills
- Very detailed oriented
- Be able to work closely with a team
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and handle deadlines
- Knowledge of both US and Canadian HS Codes is an asset
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Comfortable with US bonds (T&E and IT)
- Bilingual in French and English
- Experienced with Microsoft Office programs
