US based Sales Representative – Home Fashions

Our client, a leading importer of bedroom, bathroom and kitchen accessories is looking for a US based Sales Representative with experience and contacts in the home goods industry. Our client sells branded and private label programs  as well as licensed products to major retailers and specialty chain stores across North America. 
Job description:
Maintain and develop relationships with key decision makers, lead a team of sales reps, designers, production and sourcing. Your role is instrumental in helping us build our business with major retailers and specialty chain stores across the United States.
Determine customer product needs, obtain product approval, negotiate pricing, contracts, tenders, etc.
Keep up to date with competition by gathering current marketplace information, including; pricing, products, new products, merchandising techniques, market trends, etc.; 
Lead the customer in the development and execution of sales strategies that maximize volume, profitability and share results across the United States through monitoring financial results, and making strategic recommendations (e.g. marketing methods, managing product mixes) to achieve agreed targets;  
Promote product line at trade events and seeking opportunities to present product information to the customer.
Manage all aspects of the business including development of high level category strategies, managing financial budgets, creating sales forecasts, assortment planning, product development and marketing, sourcing strategies and implementation.
Involved in joint business plan presentations with key retailers
Travel as required
*****You MUST have a minimum of  7-10 years experience in a senior sales role in the home fashions industry, only those with this experience will be contacted.********
Extensive knowledge of national sales trends in the home fashions industry
Already established working relationships with major retail buyers and decision makers

Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Strong analytical, planning, and problem solving skills in a long sales cycle environment
