Sourcing Specialist

Our client, licensed clothing manufacturer, is in search of an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join their exemplary managed team. Under the supervision of the Vice President of Global Sourcing and Production, you would be responsible for independently costing programs, monitoring overseas suppliers, and managing factory relationships.
 
Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and confirm FOB prices of clothing
  • Maintain seasonal report on overall gross price margin
  • Develop a seasonal costing strategy
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to anticipate future apparel technologies and trends and develop solutions to improve pricing margins
  • Expand the capabilities of existing factories
  • Lead projects focusing on process efficiencies, costing tools, capacity improvement, sourcing strategy, etc.
  • Identify and mitigate high risk areas in the production and delivery process
  • Determine the factory that will develop the products based on cost, quality and lead time
  • Oversee seasonal schedule to ensure prototypes, photographic samples and finished products are delivered on time
  • Ensure liaison between the company and suppliers

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in the fashion industry and strong experience in overseas sourcing, manufacturing, costing and quality control.
  • University degree in merchandising, business or a related field is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of fabrics, prints and garment construction.
  • Knowledge of product development and production.
  • Strong understanding of global sourcing trends and strong negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Momentis.
  • Good communication skills in French and English are required. English is required to communicate with suppliers abroad.
  • Mandarin skills would be considered an asset.
