Our client, a manufacturer of mens sportswear, is looking for a bright and dedicated Merchandising Coordinator to join their team! This position will work closely with their VP of Merchandising, with the opportunity for future growth within the company.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
· Coordinate creation of swatch cards (references) from delivery of fabric to execution. Distribute to all clients offices and showrooms.
· Order sample fabric based on needs of merchandising team, follow up on delivery and advise on any delays.
· Address requests from team members or salespeople regarding fabric availability and/or delivery dates on incoming fabric. Advise shortages as well as appropriate substitute fabrics.
· Ensure sample requests are inputted into ERP system and dated correctly as per the needs of the requestee.
· Coordinate with trimming and production department to ensure appropriate information is entered into system (by use of posting cards) prior to entry of sample requests.
· Order and coordinate shipment of swatch fabric lengths for Major accounts. Ensure appropriate information is included on shipment i.e., MID numbers, HTC codes, correct labelling.
· Coordinate delivery and execution of swatches and clippings to salesmen and internal team.
· Address major account’s requests for swatch references.
· Keep log of samples needed for showrooms and salesmen as per requests from the VP of merchandising.
· Follow up with fabric suppliers concerning any issues, damages to fabric received. Work with merchandising team to decide best course of action.
· Enter data regarding model restrictions1 into ERP system.
· Coordinate with accounting and mills/ suppliers regarding entry of debit notes (Tessilcontrol) and occasionally deal directly with Tessilcontrol regarding fabric damages.
· If needed, send fabric inquiries to suppliers followed by official fabric PO’s, making sure all information is entered correctly into ERP system.
 
Requirements:
 
· 1-2 years of work experience in the fashion industry
· Understanding of the menswear market, luxury product positioning and merchandising product development lifecycle
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
· Action-oriented drive and ability to react quickly with sense of urgency.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
· Team-oriented with ability to multitask by keeping up with various requests and conducting follow ups in a timely manner.
· Fluent in English and French, both written and verbal
· Previous experience with Momentis is a bonus.
