Our client, an innovative importer in the garment district of Montreal, is searching for a Technical Designer to join their growing team. As part of a dynamic and innovative design environment, you will work closely with their design, production, and development teams to ensure that their collections are executed to the highest standards of quality and precision. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the creative vision with technical execution, from initial sketches to final production. 
Responsibilities: 

• Based on various vendors’ samples, create technical packages (TP) that describes the construction details and designer’s styling intent. 
• Ensure products are engineered to the quality and production standards.
• Identifies fit issues and suggests technical solutions.
• Communicates issues or problems to the Fit & Spec Manager, designer, and the Import team.
• Recommend alternatives or improvements.
• Liaise with fabric suppliers, manufacturers, and factories to ensure technical details are clear and production timelines are met.

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience as a technical designer or similar role in the industry.
• Diploma/degree in a related field.
• Familiar with women and men sportswear, sweaters, dresses and active wear, swimwear.
• Sewing knowledge is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of industry standard garment construction techniques.
• Knowledge of excel and illustrator is a plus. 
• Knowledge of Clo3D is a plus. 
• Bilingual
