Our client, a leading importer of premium lifestyle menswear brands, is looking for a Senior Technical Designer / Merchandiser to join their team!
Responsibilities
- Design and develop seasonal collections for Dress Shirts and Bridge Sport Shirts.
- Select and recolor fabrics, patterns, and trims to align with brand direction and market trends.
- Conduct market and competitive research to inform design strategy and assortment planning.
- Build and maintain detailed tech packs (SMS and bulk) to ensure production accuracy.
- Manage the fit approval process, reviewing samples from proto to final production.
- Approve strike-offs, lab dips, and trims, maintaining brand consistency and quality.
- Review bulk fabrics and pre-production samples to ensure specifications are met.
- Develop line sheets and customer selection CADs to support sales presentations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the design, sourcing, and production teams to ensure on-time delivery and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical design and merchandising (menswear specialization preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, pattern-making, and fit standards.
- Proven experience creating tech packs and managing development timelines from concept to production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency is a strong asset).
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
