Their role is to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia.
The anesthesia technician contributes to safe efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care.
Anesthesia technicians provide support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases and performs duties under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider.
Responsibilities
Clean anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures established by Infection Control.
Delivers necessary equipment and supplies to off site location.
Stock anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations.
Coordinate plans with identified anesthesia supply and equipment personnel to
ensure supplies and equipment are available for anesthetic procedures.
Obtain supplies and equipment as requested by anesthesia provider(s).
Maintain immediate availability to assist in routine and emergency procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Experienced Certified Registered Anesthesia Technician with administrative and management experience
Anesthesia Certification required
1 year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
