Our client, a leading importer of branded apparel for men, women and kids, is looking for a Senior Outerwear Designer to join their team!!! 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Presenting seasonal lines developed, providing relevant insight consistent with
market trends for their outerwear division.
– Support merchandiser in specific design development projects
– Trend research. (Keep up to date with emerging and current trends)
– Work in collaboration with buyers and sales team on trends and customer needs
– Create design and technical sketches (CADS )
– Create, develop, and edit detailed technical packages, including detailed technical
sketches in Adobe Illustrator and Technical BOMs (bill of materials)
– Creating and overseeing design to ensure quick flow through and strong adherence
to the production calendar
– Work closely with the fit and spec / technical team to ensure the styling and quality
from development stage of each product to final production.
– Approve production sample

Qualifications:

– Ten (10) years of experience in a similar role
– College-level degree in Fashion Design or related experience
– Relevant experience in contemporary fashions is a strong asset
– Strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
– Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software
– Excellent fashion sense and ability to translate trends
– Proven experience in garment construction and design
– Proven knowledge of the production cycle
– Proven ability to collaborate with all functions and all levels
– Ability to adapt to changing environments and be flexible
– Strong attention to detail
– Results oriented
– A strong team player with the ability to influence others
