Our client, a trusted partner to innovators in the food manufacturing, sports nutrition, bakery, and food research and development industries, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive growth in the U.S. This individual will play a key role in expanding market presence, building lasting client relationships, and delivering innovative ingredient solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
 
*Based in Canada OR United States*
*Must be okay with occasional client visits in the U.S.*

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a high-performing sales hunter, bringing strong connections within the food manufacturing industry in the United States.
  • Understand customer needs and the competitive landscape to effectively position the company’s products and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers and influencers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Follow up on leads provided by the Business Development team, Principal Partners, and marketing initiatives, while also generating leads through independent prospecting.
  • Proactively introduce and promote key products with strategic messaging tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to develop customer solutions and optimize product performance.
  • Communicate with customers through various channels — in-person meetings, video calls, telephone, and email.
  • Manage contract negotiations, communicate pricing updates, and execute new business deals.
  • Provide sales reports, highlight key opportunities, and discuss challenges during monthly meetings.
  • Manage time effectively, respond promptly to customer inquiries, and handle after-hours requests when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of proven success in sales, preferably within the food ingredients or manufacturing industry.
  • Basic knowledge of ingredient applications and food formulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders in complex organizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a results-driven, performance-oriented environment.

Working Conditions

  • Fully remote role with occasional travel to clients based in the United States.
