About Our Client
Our client is a leading importer, distributor, and broker of specialty food products serving retailers throughout Eastern Canada. With a large and diverse product portfolio, they offer customers a comprehensive range of grocery, deli, cheese, frozen, and specialty food products.
They are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow an established territory within the Greater Montreal market.
Position Summary
This role is focused on servicing and growing an existing portfolio of retail food customers. Unlike traditional new-business-focused sales roles, the primary objective is to strengthen customer relationships, increase product penetration, secure additional listings, and drive incremental sales within existing accounts.
The successful candidate will manage a well-established territory and be responsible for maximizing opportunities across an extensive product offering.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an assigned territory of retail food accounts
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular in-person visits
- Increase product listings and account penetration within current customers
- Introduce new products, promotional programs, and seasonal offerings
- Execute merchandising opportunities, flyer programs, displays, and promotional initiatives
- Develop bundled sales programs to increase order volume and product adoption
- Identify opportunities to expand product presence within customer locations
- Monitor customer inventory needs and proactively recommend products
- Utilize company technology platforms for order entry, customer management, inventory visibility, and product information
- Manage territory activity independently while maintaining consistent account coverage
- Achieve sales growth targets through relationship building and consultative selling
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and French
- Proven outside sales experience within food distribution, food brokerage, food manufacturing, grocery, deli, cheese, specialty foods, or related industries
- Experience working with independent retail food accounts is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of the food retail landscape
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based sales environment
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities
- Proficient with computers, tablets, CRM systems, and mobile sales applications
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to earn through performance

Compensation
- Competitive base salary plus commission structure
- Expected earnings potential of approximately $75,000-$90,000+ based on performance
- Mileage reimbursement provided
