Are you a finance leader with experience in manufacturing who enjoys being involved in both strategy and day-to-day operations? Our client, a long-standing company in the food manufacturing sector, is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee its accounting function and partner with senior leadership in driving the company’s continued success.
Reporting directly to the President, you’ll take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, cost management, and the overall accounting operations while leading a dedicated finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization’s accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage costing activities and identify opportunities to improve operational profitability.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, payroll, and government reporting requirements.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll functions.
- Coach and support a team of accounting professionals, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with operations and executive leadership to help achieve financial and business objectives
Requirements:
- CPA designation is considered a strong asset.
- At least 5 years of accounting or finance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous exposure to food or consumer goods manufacturing is an asset.
- Strong understanding of:
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cost accounting and inventory costing
- Financial analysis
- Cash flow management
- Experience using ERP/accounting software such as Sage 300.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing an accounting team.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
