The Senior Business Consultant will acts as the primary contract for a portfolio of highly complex technology systems/applications. The Senior Business Consultant II consults with the business to understand its goals and objectives for a specific initiative or project and advises the business on the functionality, applicability, and usability of alternative technology solutions. RESPONSABILITIES ARE:
•Identifies the business needs for new and enhanced products, services, and business processes, clarifies genuine technology requirements to identify gaps
• Project Intake
• Active engagement in project prioritization and pipeline management
• Owns the requirements management for requirement gathering, working with the vendor on solution design, support implementation and transition activities
• Communication with the business on the pipeline of work and production support activities
• Communication with business on change impact
•Provides consultancy and advice to business partners on the applicability and usability of alternative technology to help address the business problem/issue
•Builds, sustains, and leverages relationships and people networks across business functions, business partners, and external organizations to ensure a cooperative and productive environment
•Develops and oversees IT financial governance and business partner technology investment, including planning and tracking of all budgets for projects and continuing operations, ongoing work prioritization, and monthly financial forecasting, to ensure that finances are allocated appropriately
•Facilitates the development of strategic and tactical Information Technology (IT) plans to help identify future opportunities to inform current project work of the direction of the business
•Collaborates with business partners, senior management, and executives from multiple Lines of Business (LOBs), to define project objectives, business processes, and requirements
• Supervises the activities of the project team in capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements to ensure the quality of the output, as well as provide managerial direction for broad, diverse, and complex project work
•For large, complex problems, facilitates large group requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders from different LOBs to ensure that all impacted parties have an opportunity to express their needs, and that these needs are properly prioritized
•Audits documents and models produced by Business Analysts and Business Consultants to ensure quality of the product
•Provides coaching, mentoring, professional guidance, and support to Business Analysts and Business Consultants, as required, in order to foster professional development
You must
•Possesses a university degree/college diploma and/or 12+ years progressive business analysis/business consultant experience, supporting and leading large and enterprise-wide projects
•Possesses expert business knowledge in the Finance/Banking industry
• Advanced knowledge of project management and system development life cycle.
• Possesses expert knowledge of specialized, professional requirements management functions and methods
•Exhibits a solid understanding of business, data, process, and object-oriented analysis and modelling techniques
• Is experienced in practical application development and/or business partner solution delivery
•Is familiar with business assessment tools (e.g., feasibility studies, business cases and/or cost/benefit, project sizing and costing, and current state analysis/needs assessments)
•Understands and is familiar with the application of techniques associated with data modeling, process modeling, and user-centred design within the context of the organizational standards
