Production Planner / Order Manager – Furniture

Production planning and order management – Furniture manufacturer (Ville St. Laurent)
1. Full responsibility and control of all orders to plant to make sure that scheduled dates are met. Includes full responsibility to make sure that PO’s are placed and received in proper time frames established and that all quality inspections take place to ensure conformity with order specifications. 
2. Production order receipt requires up front verification of all raw materials required to meet scheduled date (assessment required within 48 hours whether there are any issues affecting scheduled date)
3. Critical path established by Production Planner for receipt of all raw materials and sub-contractor items – monitored and followed up in production schedule on daily basis with purchasing to ensure order does not go off track
4. Monitor all regular moving raw material inventories (plywood, legs, arm sets, laminate, edging, etc.) to ensure adequate stock levels are aligned with minimum/maximum requirements from Purchasing
5. Provide daily feedback to Customer Service to ensure established daily product capacities are being achieved. Communicate daily to Customer Service if changes to existing schedule occur.
6. Monitor quality of production in each department in conjunction with Department Supervisors, starting with inspection of raw materials from stock through to completed production. Establish quality control sign off by Foremen to ensure quality inspection in each department
7. Monitor and report progress of each order through the plant, department by department and update production schedule each day
8. Give input on the different staffing levels and worker assignments for each department in conjunction with the Director of Production
9. Submit a request for overtime to the Director of Production when required detailing number of workers and the hours required.
Overtime must be countersigned by him in advance in order to be permitted

1. Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience required in production planning
2. Knowledge of ERP system
3. Experience in continue improvement
4. Microsoft Office, mainly with Excel
5. Must be proficient in English and French, both spoken and written
6. Excellent interpersonal communication
7. Determined and willing to take initiative
