Quality Control and Compliance Manager

  • The management and supervision of a local and foreign Quality Control team;
  • The management and resolution of all quality issues as well as for the timely and effective resolution of all non-conformances, either process or product related;
  • Establish SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), Visual Quality Standards and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to ensure consistent quality or product;
  • Train and monitor factory auditing to ensure compliance with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), FLA (Fair Labor Act), etc;
  • Set up instruction and system for QA/QC department from inception
  • Establish and implement in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods, devising testing methods and procedures; disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods and procedures;
  • Lead the effort to implement and execute raw material, in-line and final inspection on all apparel;
  • Give technical suggestions and recommendations (such as paper pattern) to address noncompliance and garment quality problems. This includes “Correction Action Plans” and follow up with factories as required;
  • Investigate and follow up on all customer complaints relating to quality issues;
  • Monitor production to ensure on-time delivery ;
  • Develop and Analyze statistical data for individual suppliers to establish quality improvement objectives and targets;
  • Communicate regularly with the Montreal Apparel team on all Quality and Production related issues;
  • Frequent travel across China is required (60% of time)


  • Degree in a related discipline preferred;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Control Management; Apparel Manufacturing industry is a must;
  • Must carry adequate product and testing knowledge for all textiles and garments such as knits, woven, denim, lingerie, sleepwear and coats;
  • Experience with new manufacturing set up, new factory validation is critical;
  • Factory management knowledge and experience including Social and Ethical Compliance, Health and Safety and Customer Compliance;
  • Knowledge and experience with lead times in relation to customer impact and production efficiencies;
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO9000, ISO14000, AQL 2.5/4) is a must;
  • Experience in an International Company;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin;
  • Literate in Microsoft office program;
