Job description
To provide the property administration, investment, accounting and analytical support required to ensure the efficient and effective development and management of the corporation’s assets and liabilities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain appropriate systems and databases which ensure proactive and on-time accounting.
Maintain records of all amounts due to the corporation, and collection as required.
Ensure fulfillment of corporate obligations including renewal of mortgages, leases and insurance policies.
Issue, account for and manage CAM’s for all tenants to ensure proper billing, adjustments and collection on a timely basis.
Prepare and manage ongoing and year-end corporate accounting requirements including accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements and statements of building operations.
Prepare budgets and projections, and analyses of variances.
Conduct research, assemble and analyze data and prepare and present reports, presentations and documents which provide timely information essential to the efficient and effective management of the business.
Liaise with tenants, contractor’s and building managers and provide support and guidance, as required.
Respond promptly and accurately to government and other stakeholder requests and requirements.
Produce and file all government required documents, including GST/QST, Payroll related items and others.
Provide cost-benefit and other analysis and for investments, projects, repairs and replacements.
Effect continuous reviews of company operations:
to ensure appropriate systems and controls are in place which protect company resources and assets, and
to identify opportunities for improvements which lower costs, increase productivity and provide safe operations and facilities for our clients
Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time
Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
Formal accounting training (e.g. Undergraduate Degree, etc.), or equivalent experience and competence
Sound lease and property management knowledge, skills and experience
Strong computer skills with relevant software applications – spreadsheets, word processing, and database management, including: Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Quickbooks.
